Autumn vaccination against flu and COVID-19
Flu and COVID-19 circulate mainly in autumn and winter. Vaccination lowers the risk of serious illness and hospital admission, especially for people at higher risk.
Recommended especially for vulnerable groups, including:
- People aged 65 and over
- Residents of care homes and other care facilities
- Adults with a chronic condition (e.g. heart, lung, kidney, liver disease, diabetes, severe obesity) or weakened immunity
- Pregnant women
- Healthcare workers
- People living with vulnerable persons
The flu and COVID vaccines can often be given during the same visit. Your pharmacist will assess on site whether this is suitable for you.
The exact advice per vaccine and group may change each season. Always follow the current advice of the authorities or your doctor.
Ask at the pharmacy about the price, possible reimbursement and whether you need a prescription.
